Connect independent 5G paths

Use USB 5G modems, phone USB tethering or supported mobile routers. Connections on different mobile operators are preferable because two devices on the same congested cell may degrade together. Add venue Ethernet or Wi-Fi when available; diversity is often more valuable than headline speed.

Keep OBS configuration simple

OBS should send one RTMP output to the local StarBonding server. StarBonding then carries that stream across the active links. This avoids configuring separate OBS outputs for every modem and keeps scene switching, encoding and audio control inside the normal OBS workflow.

Power and thermal considerations

Multiple 5G devices can draw substantial USB power and become warm during sustained upload. Use a powered USB hub with adequate current, keep modems ventilated and disable unnecessary power-saving settings. A modem that repeatedly disconnects because of power or heat cannot contribute reliable capacity.

Test the actual streaming bitrate

Run a stream at the intended resolution and bitrate instead of relying only on short speed tests. Watch per-link upload and latency, then disconnect one link deliberately. The remaining links should have enough combined capacity to carry the stream without prolonged buffering.
