Make every link capable of carrying the stream
Suppose the encoder sends a 4 Mbps stream and Ethernet, Wi-Fi and each 4G or 5G connection can individually sustain more than 4 Mbps. StarBonding can still use all of them together. The extra capacity is not wasted; it creates several available paths for the same live-streaming session.
Active redundancy is better than an idle backup
A conventional backup connection may remain unused until the primary link fails. Switching routes after a failure can interrupt the RTMP session. StarBonding keeps multiple links participating in the bonded connection, so working links are already available when one connection slows down or disconnects.
One failed link does not have to stop the video
When a cable is removed, venue broadband fails or a mobile network becomes congested, StarBonding continues carrying the stream through the remaining active links. If any remaining connection can carry the full bitrate by itself, the production has useful redundancy even before their combined bandwidth is considered.
Use genuinely independent connections
Redundancy is strongest when links do not share the same point of failure. Combine venue Ethernet with mobile connections from different operators where possible. Test by disconnecting each link during an unlisted stream and confirm that the remaining links maintain the configured video bitrate.
