Why a single connection is risky
Venue broadband, mobile networks and tethered phones can all fluctuate during an event. A connection that passes a speed test before going live may lose upload capacity when the venue fills, radio conditions change or local usage increases. Bonding gives the stream more than one path instead of treating a single link as the only route.
What Internet bonding does
Bonding software combines usable Ethernet, Wi-Fi, USB modem and phone-tethering links for the outgoing stream. It monitors each connection while the production continues. When one local path weakens, available paths continue carrying traffic, reducing the chance that a single access-network problem ends the broadcast.
A practical Windows workflow
StarBonding runs on the Windows production computer beside OBS or vMix. The encoder sends one local RTMP stream to StarBonding, which bonds the available Internet links and can forward the stream to configured destinations. Operators retain their familiar production workflow while adding connection monitoring and transport resilience.
What to prepare before an event
Use connections from different networks where possible, power USB modems through a suitable powered hub, verify that every adapter has Internet access and run a sustained upload test at the intended bitrate. Bonding improves resilience, but adequate combined upload capacity and stable local hardware remain essential.
